Sedikit Sejarah tentang Lagu "I love Rock 'n' Roll"

"I Love Rock n 'Roll" adalah sebuah lagu rock yang ditulis pada tahun 1975 oleh Alan Merrill dan Jake Hooker dari The Arrows, yang merekam versi pertama kali dirilis. Lagu itu kemudian dibuat terkenal oleh versi hit dan direkam oleh Joan Jett & the Blackhearts pada tahun 1981.
Lagu ini awalnya direkam dan dirilis oleh Arrows tahun 1975 pada RAK Records, dengan vokal oleh Alan Merrill dan diproduksi oleh Mickie Most. Versi ini pertama kali dirilis sebagai sisi-B, tapi tak lama kemudian direkam ulang dan membalik status A-side pada rekaman berikutnya. Meskipun tidak terkenal dengan label band tersebut, lagu telah menjadi terkenal di seluruh dunia karena banyak versi yang telah berhasil direkam.

Joan Jett melihat Arrows menampilkan "I Love Rock n 'Roll" pada serial televisi mingguan mereka The Arrows Show ketika ia tur Inggris dengan The Runaways pada tahun 1976. Dia pertama kali merekam lagu tahun 1979 dengan Sex Pistols: Steve Jones dan Paul Cook. Versi pertama tidak dirilis sampai tahun 1993 di Flashback. Pada tahun 1981, Jett merekam ulang lagu, kali ini dengan band-nya, The Blackhearts. Rekaman ini menjadi US Billboard Hot 100 nomor satu selama tujuh minggu. Single ini meraih platinum oleh Asosiasi Industri Rekaman Amerika, mewakili satu juta unit terjual. Semua versi dihitung sertifikasi kesatu. Keberhasilan ini mendorong album Jett "I Love Rock n 'Roll" ke nomor dua di Billboard 200.

19. Allison Mack and Erica Durance sang this song in an episode of Smallville.
20. Ruth Lorenzo covered this song in week 8 of the 5th series of the X Factor.
21. Italian dance music producer, Alex Gaudino, produced a dance version of "I Love Rock 'n Roll" with Jason Rooney providing the vocals.
22. Alvin and the Chipmunks also covered this song for one of their episodes.
23. 3OH!3 used the same chorus and music as Joan's cover in their song "Dance With Me" on their debut album, but changed the lyrics in the verses.
